Detailed Itinerary

Day 0 – Arrival & Transfer to Senaru

Upon arrival in Lombok (airport, harbor, or hotel), our driver will meet you and transfer you to Senaru Village, located on the northern foothills of Mount Rinjani. You’ll check in to your accommodation and rest in preparation for the trek.

Optional waterfall visits to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep can be arranged on this day or before heading to Sembalun, depending on your arrival schedule.

Trekking Overview (Day 1)

* Distance: ±5.8 km
* Elevation Gain: ±700 meters
* Highest Point: ±1,923 meters (Anak Dara Summit area)

Trail Condition:
The trek begins from Sembalun Village (±1,200 m) along wide dirt paths through farmland and open savannah. The terrain is mostly gentle at first, gradually climbing across rolling hills with constant views of Mount Rinjani and Sembalun Valley.

As you gain altitude, the trail becomes slightly steeper with compact soil, rocky patches, and narrow ridge sections. The route remains clear and well-used, making it manageable for beginners with reasonable fitness. Several natural viewpoints provide great opportunities for rest and photos.

After reaching the ridge campsite, our team will set up tents while you relax with light snacks and warm drinks. The campsite offers wide open views in almost every direction. On clear afternoons, you may see the Gili Islands and Sumbawa Island on the horizon.

Spend the late afternoon exploring the area, taking photos, or simply enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere. After sunset, a warm dinner is served at camp. On cloudless nights, stargazing is exceptional, with the Milky Way often visible.

Overnight: Camping at Anak Dara Hill (±1,750 m)

Wake early to enjoy sunrise from one of East Lombok’s finest viewpoints, often accompanied by a sea of clouds drifting through the valleys below.

After breakfast at camp, the team packs down all equipment and ensures the campsite is left clean, with all waste carried back as part of our zero-waste commitment.

Descent to Sembalun Village

* Distance: ±5.8 km
* Elevation Loss: ±700 meters

Trail Condition:
The descent follows the same route back to Sembalun. Mostly downhill dirt trails with rocky and dusty sections in places. While easier than the ascent, careful footing is recommended, especially during dry or wet conditions. The return hike offers new perspectives of the valley and surrounding hills, with plenty of opportunities for scenic photo stops.

Upon arrival in Sembalun Village, your driver will transfer you onward to Senaru or your next destination (hotel, Senggigi, Bangsal Harbor, or Lombok Airport).
