Detailed Itinerary
Day 0 – Arrival & Transfer to Senaru
Upon arrival in Lombok (airport, harbor, or hotel), our driver will pick you up and transfer you to Senaru Village, located on the northern foothills of Mount Rinjani. Here you’ll check in to your accommodation and rest before the trek.
Day 1 – Senaru – Sembalun – Trek to Pergasingan Hill Campsite
Waterfall Visit (Optional Morning Activity)
Before heading to Sembalun, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Lombok’s famous waterfalls:
* Sendang Gile Waterfall – reached via stone steps through lush forest
* Tiu Kelep Waterfall – accessed by a jungle path and shallow river crossing, ending at a powerful 45-meter waterfall with a natural swimming pool
Trail condition: Stone steps, forest paths, and shallow river crossings. Can be slippery when wet.
We recommend water-friendly footwear and waterproof protection for electronics.*
Afterward, you’ll return to Senaru, have lunch nearby, and continue by vehicle to Sembalun Valley — the starting point of your hike.
Trekking to Pergasingan Hill Campsite
* Distance: ±3.5 km
* Elevation Gain: ±500 meters
* Highest Point (Camp Area): ±1,670 meters
Trail Condition:
The trail begins with wide dirt paths through farmland and open hills. As you gain elevation, the route becomes a steady uphill track with compact soil and some rocky sections. The path is clear and well-used, with several natural viewpoints along the way. Overall, it’s a gradual climb suitable for beginners, with short steeper sections near the campsite.
Along the hike, enjoy views of Sembalun’s vast rice terraces and surrounding hills. Short rest stops are made at scenic points before continuing to camp.
Upon arrival at the campsite, our team will set up tents while you relax with warm drinks and light snacks. From camp, you’ll witness a beautiful sunset over the valley, followed by dinner under the stars. On clear nights, the Milky Way is often visible.
Overnight:Camping at Pergasingan Hill (±1,670 m)
Day 2 – Sunrise View – Descent – End of Trip
Wake early for a short walk to the sunrise viewpoint, where Mount Rinjani glows in the morning light and the patchwork rice fields below slowly come alive.
After breakfast at camp, the team packs down all equipment and ensures the area is left clean as part of our zero-waste commitment.
Descent to Sembalun Village
* Distance:±3.5 km
* Elevation Loss: ±500 meters
Trail Condition:
The descent follows the same route back to Sembalun. Mostly downhill dirt trails with some rocky and dusty sections. Easier than the ascent but requires careful footing, especially in dry or wet conditions. Plenty of photo stops are possible along the way.
Arriving back in Sembalun Village, your driver will transfer you to Senaru to collect belongings and refresh before continuing onward to your next destination (hotel, Senggigi, Bangsal Harbor, or Lombok Airport).
