Day 0, Arrival in Lombok – Arrival in Lombok → Transfer to Senaru (Pre-Hike Stay) Arrive at the airport or harbor. Our team picks you up and transfers you to Senaru Village. Meet your guide for briefing, prepare your gear, and rest before the trek starts.

Day 01, Senaru Village → POS 1 → POS 2 → POS 3 → POS 4 → Senaru Crater Rim (Camp) Begin the hike through Senaru’s cool rainforest with stops at POS 1, POS 2 (lunch), and POS 3. Continue the steeper trail past POS 4, then push to the Senaru Crater Rim for sunset views of the lake and volcano. Dinner and overnight camping at the rim.

Day 02, Senaru Crater Rim → POS 3 → POS 2 → POS 1 → Senaru Village → Transfer Out Enjoy sunrise at the rim before trekking back down through the rainforest. Enjoy lunch, Arrive in Senaru by midday, then transfer to your next destination

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 - Senaru Village → POS 1 → POS 2 → POS 3 → POS 4 → Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 M)

Entrance Gate
Your adventure begins in Senaru Village (601 m), the northern gateway to Mount Rinjani. After registration at the National Park Office and a short briefing from your guide, the trek starts with a refreshing walk into the lush rainforest. The early part of the trail is shaded, cool, and perfect for warming up your body before the steeper sections ahead. The first kilometer to POS 1 is the easiest part of the entire trek. The trail is mostly flat and shaded, surrounded by tall tropical trees, chirping birds, and jungle sounds.

POS 1 (Alt. ± 900 m) – First Break in the Rainforest
At POS 1, take a short break for water and snacks. Then continue 2 hours walking, 2.7 km to POS 2. From POS 1 to POS 2, the trek becomes more demanding. The path begins to rise more sharply with uneven roots, natural steps, you’ll start sweating more during this section, but the forest shade keeps the temperature pleasant.

Lunch Stop Near POS 2 (± 1,500 m)
Upon reaching the POS 2 area, your porters prepare a delicious hot lunch. The location is one of the most enjoyable rest areas, often surrounded by groups of playful black monkeys curious about the trekkers. You’ll enjoy; Rice & vegetables, Chicken or eggs, Fresh fruit and Tea or coffee.

POS 2 → POS 3 (± 1,800 m)
After having lunch, continue to pos 3, 1.5 hours, 2.4 km, Soon after POS 2, the forest slowly begins to change. The trees become shorter, the air less humid, and the first glimpses of open slopes appear. When you reach POS 3, take a short break for water and cookies.

POS 3 to POS 4 (2,000 m)
Continue 1 hour walk up, Soft, loose earth, Steep steps that require strong legs, Uneven surfaces, Slippery soil where many trekkers lose footing. The temperature rises again as you climb out of the clouds and into direct sunlight. Expect to be drenched in sweat, but the landscape becomes more dramatic with every step.

POS 4 → Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)
The final stretch is another 30 minutes demanding section rocky, uneven, and physically tiring. This is where your stamina and determination shine. The terrain requires care and focus, but every step takes you closer to one of Lombok’s greatest views.

Arrival at Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)

Wake up early to catch one of Mount Rinjani’s most magical moments sunrise from the Senaru Crater Rim. As the first light appears behind the caldera walls, the deep blue Segara Anak Lake glows softly, and the active volcano Baru Jari casts dramatic shadows across the crater floor. Enjoy hot tea or coffee while your guide prepares breakfast. After packing up your campsite, begin the descent back toward Senaru Village.

Senaru Crater Rim → POS 3
The trek starts with a careful descent from the open slopes of the crater rim. This section rocky downhill, As you descend, the caldera views slowly fade behind you and the forest canopy becomes visible below. The air gets warmer and less windy as you approach the tree line.
Arriving at POS 3, take a short break to rest your legs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the upper rainforest.
POS 3 → POS 2
From POS 3, you re-enter the thicker rainforest. This part of the trek feels refreshing after the exposed slopes near the rim.
The trail winds through tall tropical trees, moss-covered trunks, and a cool, shaded atmosphere. This stretch is easier on the knees and provides a comfortable rhythm as you continue descending. At POS 2, enjoy a longer rest. Many trekkers appreciate this spot for its dense greenery and the sound of distant wildlife echoing through the forest.

POS 2 → POS 1
The path from POS 2 to POS 1 is smoother and less steep, making it a pleasant section for steady hiking. The forest here feels quieter and more tranquil.
POS 1 → Senaru Village (Finish Point)
The last part of the trek is mostly flat and comfortable — a gentle ending to your Rinjani adventure. As you get closer to the village, the forest begins to open up and the air becomes warmer and more humid. stop before the Finish point for Lunch.
Upon arriving at Senaru Village, end of the Trek, our team will pick you up, take you to our office or the hotel where you store your luggage, then take the rest of your luggage, change the car and transfer to your next destination.
